Tom Craig to co-star in new 4 Part BBC Drama

Hey all

Tom Craig is to co-star in a new 4 part drama for the BBC, called Undisclosed. Tom will star with Phillip Glenister, David Suchet and Thekla Reuten in the thriller that revolves around the efforts of Harry Venn (Glenister), a small-time solicitor who is forced to delve into his murky past.

Its nice to see Tom being credited with Murdoch Mysteries, instead of the usual Where the Heart Is and Coronation Street, for which he is usually known for in the UK.

Filming begins next week in Belfast.

RIP Ruth Cavin of St Martins Press

Maureen and her husband Iden Ford today learnt that her first editor, Ruth Cavin, passed away this past January. Ruth was willing to take a chance on publishing a mystery series set in Toronto 1895. We all know how the books and tv series have grown into an international success story.

The link to her obituary is here and details her history in the publishing industry that she remained a big part of until her sad death at the age of 92.

Our best wishes to Maureen, Iden and Ms Cavin's family at this sad time.

Tom Craig will have a guest slot on BBC Radio Leeds next Friday 18 March at 2pm for an hour and it goes out across the whole of Yorkshire.

It's a kind of Desert Island Disc's show. Unfortunately, this is limited to those who live in Yorkshire, but if I manage to get any further info, recordings etc I shall let you all know.

New Poll

Hey all

You are all reading this because you are fans of Murdoch Mysteries. Well, we all owe our thanks to the lady who created Detective William H Murdoch, Ms Maureen Jennings.

Having met Maureen a couple of times, I can honestly say that she is one of the nicest people that I've ever had the privilege to meet and it greatly talented. So, this poll is dedicated to her and the 7 Murdoch novels and 1 novella she has written related to Murdoch.

What is your favourite Murdoch book??? Answer on the poll at the foot of the blog

Thanks all

Last weeks poll result and new poll

Well.....what can I say......

I think last weeks poll was the definition of a slam dunk with FBI Special Agent Jack Hudson winning with a massive 78% of the vote.

I think that maybe this is because most UK readers of my blog haven't seen Yannick in much else other than Murdoch or Sue Thomas, but nevertheless, still a great result and the poll proved to be the most popular so far with 28 of you voting so a big thank you from me.

A new poll will be up later today and I hope that it gets the same response as the others.

A huge thank you from me for reading and commenting and I hope you will all continue to do so

Kommando

Murdoch and the gang are called to the scene of a grisly murder in the Don Valley, after a young man is found savagely beaten to death. The victim is Tom Meeks, a cadet at Fort York, who was on a rigorous training course that teaches guerrilla tactics. When another body is found with a ripped face to try and avoid identification, Murdoch investigates the military unit further and finds out some very disturbing underhand medical practices that the soldiers are unaware of.
